From the Manufacturer: Fabric & Leather Proof - Waterproofing Steps

1. CLEAN:
2. Remove laces if desired.
3. Rinse the outside surface of footwear to dampen and remove any loose dirt.
4. The surface of footwear must first be cleaned with Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel.
5. Shake the Footwear Cleaning Gel well, press down on the red pin in the scrub applicator to break the seal, then use the scrub applicator to apply it generously to the outside surface of the footwear while scrubbing.

6. Be sure to apply enough pressure to see soap suds on the surface.

7. WATERPROOF:

8. Shake the Fabric & Leather Proof well, then spray it on evenly while the shoes are still wet.

9. DRY:

10. Remove any surplus with a cloth, then let the footwear dry.
